InnieDynamicInnie is a very troubled child. She was orphaned very young and has to live with her aunt, uncle, cousins, and nonna. She loves her family, but she acts up alot. She is a dynamic character.Throughout the story she struggles with an inner conflict about why she acts up alot. She does this because she thinks she has been promised to the "sisters" and she thinks she has to become a nun. In the end she ends up realizing she can choose whether or not she is. She also promises to act better for her family and for herself. Innie feels very alone in the world. She feels that since her parents are gone she doesn't belong. TeresaStatic/DynamicTeresa is a very quiet young girl. Her and Innie are best friends and cousins. They have alot of arguments but they always seem to resolve it.Teresa has many conflicts of her own as well. She has trouble with keeping Innie's secrets although this does not sound like a big deal, it causes many of the problems with Innie that she has. Teresa is very well kept and a "goody-two-shoes" as they say. She always knows whats right and intends to do it. She feels very upset when Innie asks her to do these sneaky things with her. She does them any way because she loves her cousin. She seems to be in-between a static and dynamic character. She does change a little in the story but overall she has pretty much the same characteristics as the beginning.

MatelaStaticMatela is a young girl who is brought up in the Jewish faith. She is friendly and enjoys having friends from a separate faith. She is loyal to both Innie and Teresa. When they have their disputes Matela is always there for the both of them. She does not take sides. She always helps both of them do what is right. Overall Matela is a static character, her characteristics do not dramatically change at all. Although the book does not really tell you the exact details of what Matela looks like, the book makes her seem very small and gentle looking. Matela, Innie, and Teresa all have issues with telling their parents about their friends different religions. They are scared their parents with not accept their friends. In the end they all tell their parents and everything is ok.
