Main Conflict
The main conflict is: Who is the thief? Is it really Innie or is the house haunted? Innie and her friends have to go on an investigation to find the answers and to clear Innie's name.The girls go on an amazing and scary journey to find out who is the real thief! Innie spends the whole time trying to prove her innocence, but ends up looking more guilty! She also has her friends tagging along, are they in trouble too?
Climax
The climax happens the night that the girls find the little girl in the kiln room. On their investigation they go through the tunnel from the outside! When they reach inside they discover a young girl asleep raped in the shawl that was stolen. They woke her up and started interrogating her and suddenly Carmela comes out of the door and forces them to tell her whats going on. She makes them go upstairs and tell the lady owners exactly what was going on. They accepted the girls apology and allowed her to stay there an be a Thursday night club girl. The ladies also apologized to Innie for accusing her falsely.
Subplots
- Innie vs. her fear of being a nun. This lead her to do things to act out.In the end she learned that if she is a nun she has to choose to be one herself, and that she can start to act better.(internal mostly and external)
- Innie and Teresa have many arguments throughout the book. They are cousins and best friends so they end up making up and resolving their conflicts.(external)
- Innie has to sneak around to investigate so she doesn't look suspicious, this ends up failing to a certain point because she gets accused of everything.(external)
- The girls (Innie and Teresa) have to sneak out of the house at night with Matela to investigate the mishaps that are happening at night.(external)
